Airplay from mac to apple tv|BJCast
Mirroring Mac screens or content onto Apple TV via AirPlay allows you to enjoy a better visual experience on a large screen. The following are the steps to achieve this function:
1.Preparation work
Equipment requirements:
Ensure that both your Mac and Apple TV support AirPlay functionality. Usually, newer Mac and Apple TV models come with AirPlay built-in.
Your Apple TV needs to be a second-generation or higher version.
Network connection:
Connect Mac and Apple TV to the same Wi Fi network. This is a necessary condition for implementing AirPlay mirroring.
2.Enable AirPlay on Apple TV
Open Apple TV.
Go to the “Settings” folder on the right side of Apple TV.
Select ‘AirPlay‘ from the options list.
Enable the ‘Space Play’ reception feature on Apple TV.
3.Setting up AirPlay mirroring on Mac
Open System Preferences:
On the bottom menu of the Mac, find and click on “System Preferences”.
Enter display settings:
In the System Preferences window, locate and click on the “Monitor” option (in some versions of macOS, you may need to click on the “Space Play Monitor” or similar option next to “Monitor”).
Select AirPlay receiver:
Next to ‘Add Display’, select your Apple TV as the receiver device.
Select the ‘Show mirroring options in menu bar (if available)’ box to quickly access AirPlay mirroring functionality in the menu bar.
Start mirroring:
Go to the “Control Center” in the menu bar on your Mac.
Click on the “Screen Mirroring” option on the pop-up menu.
In the device list that appears, select your Apple TV.
4.Adjust image settings (optional)
Match screen size:
In the menu bar, click on the AirPlay status icon (an icon with a triangle inside a rectangle).
Select ‘This Mac’ or ‘Apple TV’ to set whether the desktop matches the size of the Mac screen or TV screen.
Adjust volume and other settings:
You can adjust the volume on Apple TV through the volume control on your Mac.
During AirPlay mirroring, you can also perform other operations on your Mac, such as playing music, videos, or giving presentations.
5.End Mirror
Disconnect:
When you want to end the AirPlay mirroring, simply click on the AirPlay status icon again in the Mac menu bar.
Select ‘Stop Mirroring’ or similar options to disconnect from Apple TV.
By following the above steps, you can easily mirror your Mac screen or content onto your Apple TV, enjoying a more immersive visual experience. Please note that the distance between devices and network stability may affect the screen mirroring effect when using AirPlay functionality. Therefore, please ensure that the device is in good network connectivity for the best screen mirroring experience.
