In recent years, the technology of wireless screen projector / wireless screen sharing is becoming more and more mature, and more and more wireless devices have entered families, enterprises and institutions. What is the principle behind the wireless screen projector?
At present, the screen projectors on the market, whether consumer or enterprise, basically use the following three kinds of screen projection protocols: Airplay, DNLA and miracast.
1、AirPlay
Airplay is a wireless technology developed by Apple company, which is mainly used to support IOS devices, including iPhone, iPad and MacBook. Pictures, audio and video are transmitted to display devices supporting airplay through WiFi. IOS devices basically support this function, without any additional software installation, which is more convenient.
characteristic:
Airplay is only applicable to certified Apple devices, and its application is relatively narrow. At present, some international brands of smart devices, including smart projection and conference tablet, support the protocol.
2.DNLA
DNLA was founded by Sony, Intel and Microsoft.
DLNA and airplay have similar functions and similar protocols. They both allow the media content from your mobile phone to be put on the TV screen. The difference is that DLNA on the mobile phone does not have the image function similar to AppleTV’s air play, nor does it have the dual screen game experience supported by AppleTV. At present, DLNA can only deliver photos and videos of mobile phones to the large screen.
characteristic:
It is only suitable for audio, video and picture push. It can transfer multimedia files to TV or projector by wireless way. In addition, DLNA has stopped updating. Now many mobile phones no longer support DLNA, which is also a big loss.
3.Miracst
Miracast is a wireless display standard based on Wi Fi direct connection developed by Wi Fi alliance in 2012. Devices that support this standard can share video images wirelessly.
For example, a mobile phone can send movies or photos directly to a TV or other device through miracast. Unlike DLNA, miracast also has a mirror function similar to airplay, which can directly put the screen content of the mobile phone into the HDTV screen, so that you can also play games through the TV screen. Because this technology is relatively new, the equipment supporting this technology is very rare so far. And the technology is not mature.
Features: it is a wireless display standard based on WiFi direct connection. Devices that support this standard can share video images wirelessly. For example, mobile phones can play movies or photos directly on TV or other devices through miracast without being affected by the length of connecting cables. Miracast has the same mirror function as airplay, which can directly put the screen content of the mobile phone into the HDTV screen. Similarly, you can also play games and play online videos through the TV screen.
