To use AirPlay on Roku, you need to ensure that the following conditions are met and follow the steps below:
1.Ensure device compatibility
Roku device: Your Roku device needs to support AirPlay 2. You can check whether your device model is compatible with AirPlay 2 on Roku’s official website or support page.
Apple device: You need an Apple device running iOS 12.3 or above or MacOS Mojave 10.14.5 or above (such as iPhone, iPad, or Mac).
2.Connect to the same Wi Fi network
Ensure that both your Roku device and Apple device are connected to the same Wi Fi network. This is the foundation for AirPlay functionality to function properly.
3.Enable AirPlay
Open Roku settings: On the Roku home screen, select “Settings”.
Enable AirPlay: In the settings menu, find and open “Apple AirPlay and HomeKit”. Then, select “AirPlay” in the upper right corner and make sure it displays as “On”.
4.Using AirPlay
Initiate AirPlay from an Apple device:
IPhone or iPad: Open Control Center (swipe down from the top right corner of the screen or up from the bottom of the screen), find and click on the “Screen Mirroring” or “AirPlay” icon.
Select your Roku device from the list and confirm the connection.
Mac: Select “AirPlay mirroring” from the menu bar or use the screen mirroring feature (depending on the application you are using). Select your Roku device from the list and confirm the connection.

Once the connection is successful, you can share content from your Apple device to Roku. For example, you can wirelessly transfer photos, music, or videos from your iPhone or iPad to Roku devices for playback.
5.Disconnect AirPlay connection
After completing the content sharing, you can disconnect the AirPlay connection through the following methods:
IPhone or iPad: Return to Control Center, open the “Screen Mirroring” or “AirPlay” section, and then select “Stop Mirroring” or turn off AirPlay.
Mac: Select “AirPlay mirroring” or screen mirroring feature in the menu bar, and then choose “Disconnect” or similar options.
