AirPlay is a proprietary protocol stack/suite developed by Apple Inc. that allows wireless streaming between devices of audio, video, device screens, and photos, together with related metadata. Originally implemented only in Apple’s software and devices, it was called AirTunes and used for audio only. Apple has since licensed the AirPlay protocol stack as a third-party software component technology to manufacturers that build products compatible with Apple’s devices.
Apple announced AirPlay 2 at its annual WWDC conference on June 5, 2017. It was scheduled for release along with iOS 11 in the third quarter of 2017, but was delayed until June 2018. Compared to the original version, AirPlay 2 improves buffering; adds streaming audio to stereo speakers; allows audio to be sent to multiple devices in different rooms; and control by Control Center, the Home app, or Siri, functionality that was only available previously using iTunes under macOS or Windows.
Airplay Part
Sender
AirPlay sender devices include computers running iTunes, and iOS devices such as iPhones, iPods, and iPads running iOS 4.2 or greater.
OS X Mountain Lion supports display mirroring via AirPlay on systems containing 2nd generation Intel Core processors or later.
Receiver
AirPlay receiver devices include Apple TV, HomePod, other third-party speakers and the discontinued AirPort Express, which included a combined analog and optical S/PDIF audio output connector. With the open-source implementations of the AirPlay protocol, any computer can be turned into an AirPlay receiver.
Since Airplay has no public agreement, so far, only a few companies have been able to support Airplay Receiver, and BiJie is one of them.

Airplay Feature
Mirror
Mirror can send the screen content of the iPhone or the screen content of the Mac to the Airplay receiver via the network, and send the sound of the microphone of the iPhone or Mac to the Airplay receiver via the network.
In this way, the content displayed on the sender and receiver is consistent.
Picture
In Picture mode, the sender can transmit photos to the receiving end through the network. In this case, the receiving end only displays Picture, and the display content may be inconsistent with the sending end.
This mode is only supported by the iPhone, and after iOS9, this mode has been canceled.
Video/Music
In the video and music mode, the sender can transmit the URL of the content to the receiving end through the network.
In this case, the receiving end can play the related content through the URL.
In this mode, the sender and receiver display content is inconsistent. The sender can operate by itself without affecting the content of the receiver.
Requirements
The sender needs an iPhone or Mac.
The receiver needs an Apple TV, or uses BiJie Meeting Box, or uses BiJie receiver software to install on Android TV.
The sender and the receiver need to be on the same network segment.
iPhone
Video
- Connect your iOS device to the same Wi-Fi network as your Receiver(maybe Apple TV or BiJie Meeting Box).
- Find the video that you want to AirPlay.
- Tap

To stop streaming, tap

Your iOS device might automatically AirPlay video to the Apple TV or AirPlay 2-compatible smart TV that you frequently use. If you open a video app and see 
in the upper-left corner, then an AirPlay device is already selected.To use AirPlay with a different device, tap
, then tap another device, or tap “iPhone” to stop streaming with AirPlay.
Mirror
Mirror your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touchUse Screen Mirroring to see the entire screen of your iOS device on your Apple TV or BiJie Meeting Box.
- Connect your iOS device to the same Wi-Fi network as your Apple TV or BiJie Meeting Box.
- Open Control Center:
On iPhone X or later or iPad with iOS 12 or later: Swipe down from the upper-right corner of the screen.
On iPhone 8 or earlier or iOS 11 or earlier: Swipe up from the bottom edge of any screen. - Tap
Screen Mirroring. - Select your Apple TV or BiJie Meeting Box from the list.
- If an AirPlay passcode appears on your TV screen, enter the passcode on your iOS device.
Screen Mirroring.Your TV uses your iOS device’s screen orientation and aspect ratio. To fill your TV screen with the mirrored iOS device screen, change your TV’s aspect ratio or zoom settings.To stop mirroring your iOS device, open Control Center, tap Screen Mirroring, then tap Stop Mirroring. Or press the Menu button on your Apple TV Remote.
Mac
With Apple TV or BiJie Meeting Box, you can mirror the entire display of your Mac to your TV or use your TV as a separate display.
- Connect your Mac to the same Wi-Fi network as your Apple TV orBiJie Meeting Box;
- On your Mac, click
in the menu bar at the top of your screen. If you don’t see , go to Apple menu > System Preferences > Displays, then select “Show mirroring options in the menu bar when available.” - Choose your Apple TV or BiJie Meeting Box;
- If an AirPlay passcode appears on your TV screen, enter the passcode on your Mac.

To change the size of your desktop mirrored on your TV, click 
in the menu bar. Then select Mirror Built-in Display to match the size of your desktop or Mirror Apple TV to match the size of your TV.AirPlay also lets you use your TV as a separate display for your Mac. Just click in the menu bar, then select Use As Separate Display.To stop mirroring or using your TV as a separate display, click in the menu bar, then choose Turn AirPlay Off. Or press the Menu button on your Apple TV Remote.
