Use AirPlay with Apple devices

AirPlay is a powerful Apple technology that allows you to wirelessly stream audio and video, or mirror your screen, from your Apple devices to compatible devices. Here’s a breakdown of how to use it:

Key Capabilities:

  • Streaming:
    • Send audio and video from your iPhone, iPad, or Mac to Apple TV, AirPlay 2-compatible smart TVs, HomePod speakers, and Macs.
  • Mirroring:
    • Display your device’s screen on another display, replicating everything you see.

What You Need:

  • An Apple device (iPhone, iPad, Mac).
  • A compatible receiving device (Apple TV, AirPlay 2-compatible smart TV, HomePod, Mac).
  • A Wi-Fi network (both devices on the same network).

How to Use AirPlay:

1. Streaming Video or Audio:

  • From iPhone or iPad:
    • Connect to the same Wi-Fi network as your AirPlay device.
    • Find the content you want to stream.
    • Tap the AirPlay icon (often a rectangle with a triangle). In some apps you may have to press the share button first.
    • Choose your AirPlay device.
  • From a Mac:
    • Ensure both devices are on the same network.
